Sywell Revival Fly-in

September 09     Vic Leggott

The new runway clearly visible at Sywell.

Claire and I flew in on the Sunday and from what I hear, probably the best day weather wise due to a strong crosswind on Friday and Saturday. There were about 300 aircraft arrivals on the Saturday though. Dave Almey and Murray Flint were on the Jab / Skycraft stand with a J430 and the new Rans S19 on display. The Jab powered Rans has come on a long way since I last saw it and looks a quality job. You can read about it in the AV8 online mag. April issue and there is a write up on Murray Flint and his fine work in the August edition http://www.av8magazine.com

Paul Sistern was in the Marquee tent with a selection of the latest MGL electronic instruments and had the latest version of the Enigma EFIS with the new very high contrast / bright LCD display Parts for Aircraft

Cover systems were at an aircraft show for the first time with Nick Deans J430 fitted with covers on display. See them on my web site Jabiru extras

Sywell are very proud of their new hard all weather runway and it's very nice but I used the grass! -  as you could vacate that at any point. From what I saw it was all well organized and was a good dress rehearsal for a bigger event next year.
